Mother and Child Reunions at OHI

The bond between mother and child is sacred – and it doesn’t stop when kids grow up. When Lauren O’Leary developed an autoimmune disease, it was her mother, Kris, who insisted Lauren visit Optimum Health Institute (OHI). Kris had experienced the first two weeks of the holistic healing program herself, and mother’s intuition told her it could help Lauren deal with her weight gain, foggy brain and unpleasant reaction to all her medications.

After Lauren’s first day at OHI, the persistent itching that plagued her for months stopped. Her first week was magical, she told her mom, and she made plans to complete the second week in a few months. The two decided to do the third week together. The timing was perfect. Right before Mother’s Day, Kris gifted Lauren with tuition to accompany her for the third week.

The two women found even more to love about each other during their shared experience at OHI. They nudged each other to stick to the plan, and spent the week learning and laughing together.

Moms tend to put their kids first, Lauren said. While they were together at OHI, she could find out what was going on with her mother instead of everything being about her. With her new insights, Lauren feels even more love, respect and appreciation.

Sharing the third week with her mother was particularly rewarding, Lauren said, because they both gained new insight into the “big picture” of achieving, and maintaining, optimum health.
